Jeff Osthimer

College Tech Prep Grad, Current Tech Prep Teacher

Jeff Osthimer couldn’t wait to return to his beloved alma mater. He graduated from Whitmer High School to continue a College Tech Prep computer networking pathway at the University of Toledo. In three years he earned a bachelor’s degree in computer science. He returned to Whitmer to teach Tech Prep networking technology and is also a tenure-track professor at the university.

Jeff feels fortunate to be teaching at Whitmer where he emphasizes the connection between strong academic preparation and technical competence.

“I am proud of my Tech Prep students. I push them for excellence in all they do. I'm glad that my students can take advantage of Tech Prep because it provides an all-encompassing vehicle for student-centered transition to college. From the Junior Conclave to the Showcase, it empowers our young professionals to maximize achievement.”

Jeff has earned five IT certifications (CCNA, A+, MCP, CIW, CCNP Routing). In June, he’ll begin a doctorate program.

He sits on the Ohio Career-Technical Credit Transfer Panel. He is also the Whitmer advisor for the Business Professionals of America and the National Technical Honor Society. And… every year he’s sent at least one Whitmer student to national-level competition, earning top three placement in the last two years.
