Tech Prep Advantage “Attending the Pike County Career Technology Center was definitely the best choice for me because I have been prepared well for college. Being treated more as an adult in a career-based setting has helped me to become a more self-reliant and responsible individual. With the skills I have acquired, I will be able to begin my college career with a level of maturity that I credit to my complete career tech education and training.”

Skill Attainment “I learned more in the first two weeks of school than I felt I had in a long time at the high school. My summer job stretched into a year-long employment where I was able to work closely with the technology coordinator in setting up and imaging approximately three hundred computers, setting up telephones in classrooms and offices, and general computer/printer maintenance along the way. I have learned to work independently in locating problems and finding solutions on how to solve them. I have learned to rely on my instincts and abilities to perform well on assigned tasks and have developed a maturity that allows me to work without constant supervision. I have also learned to interact with others in a professional manner in problem solving and creativity.”
Goals “Attending college and receiving my degree is a goal that means a lot to me. Upon earning my college degree, I will hold the honor of being the first college graduate in my family.”
