How Do I Start?

College Tech Prep programs are offered in high schools, career centers and colleges throughout Ohio. While some students explore College Tech Prep in 9th and 10th grade foundation classes, most students begin as high school juniors.

Be prepared to take algebra II, geometry, chemistry and physics, along with other required academic courses in preparation for engineering technologies, information technologies, or health technologies.

Considering enrollment?

Program registration generally begins during the second semester of the sophomore year.

  • Take advantage of open houses, careers days and summer camps hosted by partner colleges and high schools.

  • Find out more about College Tech Prep scheduling and eligibility requirements by contacting your high school guidance counselor. Your counselor can help you select an available program and complete the necessary paperwork.

  • Contact your local Tech Prep Regional Center for program information and eligibility requirements.

“The college-level coursework helps students understand they can do more than just attend college, they can succeed in college. They develop a comfort zone that’s invaluable.”
